There will be a scavenger hunt tomorrow afternoon, in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. You will need to follow us on Twitter to participate. We can be found at @sdzombiewalk, if you are not already following us.
Tomorrow, 11/15, at about noon, we will tweet a list of items to collect that can be found in and around San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. We will then tweet a location to at which to meet with the items. The first three people to show up with the full list, before 7PM, will win cool prizes, including a full zombie prize pack for the first to show up with the full list. The first ten to show up with a full list will get a Zombieland poster!
What else do you have to do on a Sunday afternoon? Come romp around downtown San Diego with us! You do NOT need to dress up to participate. This is simply a for-fun game for you to play, sponsored by ZombieWalk:SanDiego!
We’re gearing up for our annual holiday walk and we need your input! The walk will take place on the Saturday following Thanksgiving – November 28th, 2009 – and we will be collecting items to be donated to local homeless and San Diego families in need. More details of this walk & event will be forthcoming, but first we need to plan… and quick!
If you’d like to get involved in planning this walk and future walks (including Comic-Con 2010), please attend our first meeting on Thursday, November 5th, at 6:30PM:
Ono Sushi
1236 University Ave.
San Diego, CA 92103
Please bring cash for dinner, so that we do not have to worry about splitting the bill. Food and drinks are very affordable at Ono Sushi (not to mention quite delicious – and yes, they have hot food, too!)… see for yourself at http://www.onosushi.com.
We will be having another planning meeting in mid-November, as well as several meetings in December and throughout early 2010. They will all be announced here and we will have a calendar up, soon!
We had around 200 zombies and collected over 400lbs of food. Not bad for the middle of the week and a slightly last-minute event! Thank you everyone who participated and donated. San Diego Food Bank is happy, we’re happy, and since you got to see a seriously kickass movie (Zombieland) for free… we hope you’re happy, too!
Zombies are familiar with the struggles of being hungry and not knowing where their next meal is going to come from, so we can identify with those in our community who may be short on their luck and need a little extra help from the San Diego Food Bank. Since we’re not all totally terrible savages, as portrayed in the hilariously awesome Zombieland, we’d like to give back by collecting food for the still-living!
Join us on Thursday, October 1st, 2009 at 5:30PM, at the Pacific Gaslamp 15, in downtown San Diego, for the Food Not Brains Zombiewalk & Food Drive. The first 150 zombies, to show up with donations for the food bank, will receive a wristband and pass for VIP seating at a special screening of Zombieland (in theaters nationwide on October 2nd) immediately following the walk. Following the movie (at approximately 9PM), join us for ANOTHER WALK and then an afterparty at Stage Saloon, where we can get our undead dance on to the sounds of Zombie Surf Camp!
If you are unable to meet up with us for the 5:30PM walk, please join us promptly at 9:00PM for another walk after the movie. Meet us in front of the Gaslamp Pacific 15 between 8:45PM and 9:00PM and we will do another sweep of the Gaslamp Quarter, then head back to Stage Saloon (21+) for the afterparty!

Additional Information:
If you’re joining us on the walk or just wanting to watch the walk, please review our WALK GUIDELINES! This will keep things safe & fun for everyone involved.
If you’re looking for a good place to watch the walk, many of the awesome resturants along 5th Avenue, in the Gaslamp Quarter, have patio seating which will give you a prime vantage point. They also have a variety of tasty food options to choose from, so head down and grab an early dinner and the best seat for zombiewatching!
